Welcome to Hikari Press™ (“Hikari Press”, “we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you browse or order from www.HikariPress.com (the “Website”). We are based in Algeria.

2. What we make

We create made-to-order, personalized children’s storybooks. Each book is created after we confirm order details with you by phone.

3. What data we collect

We only collect what we need to operate your order and keep the experience safe.

A) Parent/Customer data - Full name (or name you provide) - Phone number - Delivery location (Wilaya + Commune) - Order details (book title, quantity, delivery type, etc.) - Communications with our support team (messages, calls, complaint proofs)
B) Child data (needed for personalization) - Child name - Child age range - Child photo (uploaded by you) - Selected language (Arabic / French / English; more may be added) Important: You confirm you have the legal right/permission to upload the child’s photo and request personalization.
C) Technical/usage data We may collect limited technical data to keep the Website secure, measure performance, and improve the service. This can include device/browser information, approximate location, and events related to site usage. For fraud prevention only, we may derive a non-identifying device signature (from your browser/device settings), store a first-party fraud-prevention identifier on your device, and record basic checkout interaction signals (such as typing/paste activity) to detect fake or automated orders. These are used solely to prevent fraud — never for advertising — and are deleted 12 months after your last activity. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

4. Why we use your data

We process your data to: - Confirm and process your order (including the confirmation phone call) - Create the personalized book you requested - Coordinate delivery and tracking updates - Handle returns/defects claims and customer support - Prevent fraud, fake orders, abuse, and suspicious activity - Improve our Website and customer experience Algerian data protection law recognizes key principles and rights for individuals regarding personal data processing.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a cookie banner on the Website. - Essential cookies: required for core site functions (security, checkout flow, tracking order session, etc.). - If we use analytics/advertising technologies (e.g., measurement pixels), we only enable non-essential tracking based on your cookie choices in the banner. 6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data only with: - Delivery partners (to ship your parcel and provide tracking) - Service providers that help us run the Website and store necessary order data (e.g., hosting, databases, customer support tools) - Authorities if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights/safety We do not share customer-uploaded child photos for marketing.

7. AI / image processing note

Your uploaded photo is used to create your personalized product. We may generate characters inspired by the uploaded photo for the purpose of producing your personalized story visuals. We do not use your uploaded photos for advertising, posting, or public marketing.

8. Data retention (how long we keep data)

Order records: kept long-term to manage after-sales service and business records. Original uploaded child photos: deleted 2 weeks after delivery, or 3 days after cancellation. Generated previews / generated content: deleted 1 month after delivery. Support chat logs: ~ 1 year.

9. Security

We take security seriously: - Sensitive data is protected using appropriate technical measures - Access is limited to authorized, high-rank staff only - We monitor suspicious activity and may block abusive users No system can guarantee 100% security, but we work to keep risk as low as possible.

10. Your rights

You can request: - Access to your data - Correction/rectification - Deletion (when applicable) - Objection to certain processing We aim to respond within 24 hours via our support channels, in line with the spirit of data protection rights recognized under Algerian law.

11. Children’s privacy

Because our service involves children’s personalization, we treat child data carefully and keep it only as long as necessary for production, support, and the retention periods above.

We may update this policy when our service changes. The latest version will always be posted on this page with the updated date.
